Finance Committee · Meeting of October 6, 2026

OAKHAM — The Oakham Finance Committee unanimously approved override presentation slides for two upcoming public information sessions. Chair Vincent Piucci, Vice Chair Donald Haapakoski and Secretary Clare Hendra, the panel's three active members, finalized materials pegging the Finance Committee's recommended override at $550,000, with a revised first-year increase figure near $318,000. One slide warns "essential services would be eliminated or materially reduced" if the override fails.

The committee also interviewed Aaron, a candidate for one of two vacant seats left by Stephen Dollinger and Brad Battersby, but took no appointment vote, citing unresolved questions about the town's single shared Zoom connection. Free cash came in roughly $145,000 lower than expected due to uncollected taxes, a figure one member called "frightening." Information sessions are set for November 5 and November 10; the panel's next meeting is October 20.
