OAKHAM — February 10, 2025 — Oakham Select Board reopens and closes its special town meeting warrant in a single session, adding a $894.49 invoice from LHS Associates of Salem, New Hampshire, for prior-year election services. The board set a tentative special town meeting date of March 10 to allow for the required two-week posting period; a roads-related warrant article was deferred to the annual town meeting pending Planning Board review and town counsel sign-off. Library Director Lauren Costantine presented a largely level-funded FY2026 budget but requested a $3,700 increase in the lending-materials line — half of a $7,514 compliance gap — to preserve the library's state certification and its membership in the CW Mars regional lending network, with the library covering the remainder from state aid. Council on Aging Coordinator Claire Hendra presented a $320 increase to a $20,380 budget, covering modest rises in office supplies, recreation, and software, while reporting no response yet to a Barre Gazette advertisement for an activities coordinator.
